Alicia Monae Powell is a Senior here at Elon University, and is majoring in Public Health with minors in Biology & African/African-American Studies. She is from Charlotte, NC, although she was born in Long Island, New York. On campus, she is an Odyssey scholar, and has been in Residence Life for all 4 of her years. She is currently serving as an Apartment Manager. She has traveled abroad on the Semester at Sea program for spring 2020, but it was cut short due to COVID (Included countries like Hawaii, Japan, Vietnam, Mauritius and South Africa). In addition, Alicia is involved in Residence Life, Honor Board, & President Student Leadership Advisory Council. Alicia has a published opinion editorial to the Greensboro News & Record, and she has received honors like the Black Excellence Award and Deans List. At home, she interns and works with residents with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia as Certified Nursing Assistant with aspirations to become a Physician Assistant, Doula, Midwife, or Nurse Practitioner. Alicia was inducted into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority in the Fall of 2019. Lastly, Alicia is the President and social media chair of the Xi Omicron chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. 💙🕊
