For our music this morning, please enjoy Twisted Measure's cover of Chandelier by Sia. Jan is the advisor for Twisted Measure and two-time winner of the Barbara Carlton Advisor of the Year Award.

Jan Register is the Administrative Assistant at the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life and has worked at Elon since November 2011. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and has held various positions in her career including Director of the Legal Department for Roche Biomedical Laboratories (currently Laboratory Corporation of America), Business Administrator for a dental office, and Advisory Staff Coordinator for Dunlop Tennis.

Jan has a long history with Elon as her parents both held jobs at Elon College in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Her mother, Barbara Sharpe, worked in Security. Her father, Bill Sharpe, was the Director of Publications, Director of Student Activities, and the first full-time Chaplain here, preceding Richard McBride. Jan and her husband Robert have three children: Alex, who received a Master’s Degree in Interactive Media at Elon, lives in Charlotte with her husband Teddy and works for London company Daisie, Robert Jr. who is a trader on Wall Street, and William who is a professional golfer on the Canadian PGA Tour.

Working at Elon is Jan’s dream job – she loves mentoring and interacting with college students and she serves as an advisor for Twisted Measure, one of Elon’s co-ed a capella groups. Jan loves singing, dancing, warm weather, her fur baby Ringo, and spending time with family.
